Having been in similar places, I can say that this captures the mood really nicely! It might be effective to use Photoshop to up the contrast a bit. It's not too sharp, probably due to low light, but for the mood of this photo that's not really important.

1. I forgot to mention how good your photo was.
2. I forgot to mention that after taking a roll of film in the bazar in Teheran, I found out that the film did not turn in the camera. Therefore I have no photo from there.

Thank you for your comment on my Iris.
I was in a similar bazar to the one above in Teheran 1966, on my way to Kurdistan, when Iran was still hospitable to Israelis. In fact we helped the Iranians a freat deal with their agriculture in an aerea called Kazvin & later the Kurds.
I send you a photo that shows me in Kurdistan.

I do not know what brought you from western Canada to Damas... however a wonderful destination... provided that one gets out to the archelogical sights... which are simply superb. and so few visitors...
Here you have captured the dirt and the rush of activity of what could be a market place in many places around the globe... but this viewer thinks that the boy is the one that offered his donkey one day some time ago...

Jose, you lucky guy! We (me and my assistant/girlfriend)were in Cyprus about 2 months ago and it's SO close to Syria that I wanted to go there(and Leb.)but we have an Israel stamp in our passports (from years ago)so we knew they wouldn't let us in - Politics!Had the same problem when we were in Jordan. Our driver said no way will they let you in (driving up from Jordan).I need a new passport soon so then we'll do it.Great shot.I love the markets in Arabic countries - so much to shoot.Travelings the best! take care, Mark
