I'm gald you have these bits of explanation on these........ your sites are so intruiging/arresting/mysterious ( like the Jacobite monument).
this one certainly makes one want to wait for the full moon and dance arond it naked.

Thanks Selina; If I remember correctly this was taken on an evening stroll in September. Eday is a nice island, quite peaty and barren in contrast to the neighbouring islands which are green and fertile.

Thanks for all the coments. The saturation was achieved with a polarizer, I know it's not everyone's cup of tea. It is indeed moss growing on the stone, in the pure, northern air... :)
