This image like most of your work lacks a central theme. It's too busy and your foreground and main subject blend into your background. The result is a very monotone photograph that fails to capture the viewer. Getting closer to the main subject and cropping the extraneous elements would go a long way towards making this a much more interesting photograph. Furthermore, since there is no color within the subject matter to contrast with the background and serve as a point of interest, you have to rely solely on composition to make this photograph interesting. You have to play with the lines within the log to see how the log's placement within the frame will make this image more exciting.
One other thing, you MUST use a tripod. Most of your photographs suffer from motion blur, which doesn't help matters. Take your time and don't rush things. When doing this type of work, each shot can take as long as 20-30 mins. Don't shoot for the sake of shooting, rather explore the possibilities, pressing the shutter only when you're absolutely sure that this is the shot you want to take.
