About	Okay, so there are some obvious things I want you to ignore. I had to use an old blanket for a backdrop and two table lamps for my lighting, both facial and backlighting. The photo is blurry because for some reason my depth of field sucked (only so much you can do with an auto digital, right?). Otherwise, what could I have done to make this picture better?

OK, here is what I would have done with your exact setup. I would have moved this beautiful model further from the background so it would be more out of focus. This would place more emphasis on her (which is the entire reason for photographing her in the first place). :) Then I would have brought your lights in lower so that you would light up her eyes. Her eyes should almost be your main reason for light. Then I would have changed the final to B&W and said the grain was done on purpose for effect! Just kidding! But I would have finished this in B&W. Hope that helps. Let me know if you try something like this again so I can see the results.

Besides the obvious things that you've already pointed out, it's generally fine. Only thing i would change might be to back up slightly in the composition so you could see her arms better. but other than that it looks good. =)
