Sorry, I seen a mistake I couldn?t live with so this is a repost. ?The best series of 5 flower photographs wins 5 etc. Contest ends March 1, 2003. There is no prize for second place, so let?s see your best stuff!? well, the contest is over but here ya go, some mechanical flowers. Un K? Thaaaaanks!
michael, great macro! interesting choice regarding exposure. i like the blown out look of the hands and the sharp shadows. it makes them jump off the page. also like the mild reflections on the edges of some tick marks. very well done!!
and i have to agree with you on two things: 1) we've all seen too many flowers ;^) 2) even though the watch thing has been done enough times as well, it's very hard to avoid the temptation. i couldn't ;^)
thanks for your comment on my photo, btw. glad you liked it.
Unn k.. I love it. Hahaha. Amazing macro.. Nice and close. I like the composition you used here. Very creative idea!
To answer your question: You got it right on the dot, .40 HP. Nice call! Their home is a G23. And for your question on my Child's play photo, It was handheld.. (Well, resting on my knee, while I sat on a bench) Aperture was at 8.0 & shutter was 1/40, and the shutter was about 1/250 if I recall correctly. I took a number of shots before I actually got one of her in the perfect shape.
Blueskies, I really like the contrast here. Because I'm a pilot, at first glance, I thought it may be part of the instrument panel in an aircraft. Good work though..creative idea for a "flower." Regards, ~Luke
Yeah, ok, I know it?s been done before, probably a thousand times before, but I liked the shadows in there, and since I?m not a big fan of flowers I decided to complete this ?expired? category with something mechanical. Ya know though... if you squint your eyes enough... it sort of looks like... well, like a blurry mess... but I can imagine flowers pedals shaped like dials. Just havin some fun here -Mike
