I really like the work you are doing here. The use of single source lighting without getting too hot on their face. Its also from an unnatural angel which makes it unique almost eeire. Im glad these are in color too. there is a place for BW but I think the present day reality of it would be lost if it werent in color. We had a Jazz gig in Detriot a couple years ago. neat town. on its way back I hope. Stayed at the Inn on Ferry St. I got a great photo of the old Madison Theate. Thanks very much for your comments on my work. much appreciated. take care JC

Nice picture Sandy. Old people are always a nice subject to photograph, because their faces show alot of character, emotion. What disturbs me a bit in this picture is how the top edge of his glasses cuts through his eyes. The glasses themselves are marvelous though ;-)

I come back here to answer you. How I did the Roberta's portrait? Simple, I know her since she was little, I was her teacher, I asked her to laugh in the same way when she was at school!!! Thankx for your interest. Max
PS: Leroy is a fantastic guy!!!

Great portrait as the last one Sandy! Very nice lighting and a SUPER face for a shot! About my last... ok... not people in it! It was a ruid boat that a guy buy it for... about 6000Euros....yes... and try to put it as an object for a museum...however it never made it... better at the port that for some years we can watch it.

My grandfather turned eighty this year and he is the coolest man I know. He buys a new computer every few years, creates his own cards on the computer, and now owns a digital camera. He isn't overly good at it but considering his age, I think it is awesome.
I like the composition and crop - I think it emphasizes the elongated features of this gentleman.
Wonderful old-man glasses. ;)
Mary
PS my great-grandfather was moved into a nursing home after his wife died. He lived to be 94 - I remember visiting him - he had at least half-a-dozen girlfriens there...
