daring and original composition for a portrait, love the intimacy between the subjects, assuming this is mother and child?

Great composition and almost perfect image. Just a tad hot on the baby's face. Adding to my favs. for the high level of originality and cute-as-heck factor.

Fabulous composition. What a wonderful treasure for the mother and child. I too will possibly emulate this for portraits of family and friends if you don't mind!!

What a refreshing portrait!!! I love this! Do you mind if I emulate? lol Now how will I get my three kids in one like this....? Really enjoyed this. I find the catch light a little distracting, but who cares! It's a favorite...

Love it! The sepia works well and the composition is excellent. The tight crop, the clarity and the catchlight in the eyes is beautiful.

This is not a typical portrait photo. Normally, having half a face would not look very nice, but the two kids here with one eye each in view gives the photo an artistic and abstract sort of feel. This seems like a well balanced work of art. And the detail is all there and sharp as a tack.

Thanks all for the helpful comments and advice. Yes, Kim, I shoot with the Nikon D1x and I like it very much. It handles much like a 35mm - with the digital advantages (my thoughts). Happy shooting. Sam

Amazing close-up shot, and nice and original composition! Is that a Nikon D1X? How do you like it?
