Too bad you changed your position when taking the return shot. The stone was in great position in the first image but now there is a bit too much space to the left of it (IMHO). Still nice mood capture. Regards bill

Nice impression of approaching night and weather closing in. I wonder if a tripod was used for the long exposure? As for a crop, well I really like the expansiveness of the water at the bottom so would want to emphasise it more by cropping some of the sky, and for even more impact perhaps even as far down as 1/3 of the tree. All make good images including the original so well done.

absolutely beautifully serene mood! wow. do you think a cropping off some of the bottom or some of the top would suit this photo well (even if you crop into the reflection of the trees)? just a suggestion to try.
