By golly there is someone else (besides me) out there that is still using the old canon ae-1! I like the composition of this shot. It gives great perpective lines. However I feel that it is a little hot, overexposed. You have some good detail of the grain of the wood in the shadows but it is lost in the daylight portions of the wood. It appears that you took this shot in the bright sunlight, and the readings you got with the ae-1 did not accuratly balance this out. I know I have the same struggles with my old camera. You might try doing this shot again with a red filter with your blackand white film and look at the difference it makes. Do you remember the film, and settings that you used?
