About Nippon or Japan is considered the country of the Rising Sun... which raises the question whether the Sunset is falling upon America. America is considered the Omni-Power today, but clearly China and India will become the Super-Powers... and the Rising can be seen!

I missed this one, and it was a shame.

Who does not understand the message and think that there are special places to discuss politic, has failed something important of the power of photos and communication (and I would say even of the life) ...Without offence...

In reply to Mr. Joe Liftik

With humble but due respect... your recent comment begs a reply.

Albiet... photography is but one form that allows for one's eyes to be opened by visual records and celebrity... or shall we say the celebration of Christmas!

The EYE of Henri Cartier, Cecil Beaton, and even Sir John Keegan & Phillip Knightley, have all presented their thoughts in terms of Politics, War, Famine, and Faith.

Robert Capa's advice to Cartier-Bresson was "be a PHOTOJOURNALIST, if not you will fall into mannerism..." still holds true... thrive on the conflict of art and journalism, surreal and real.

Best Seasons' Greetings!

Very nice shot, In Transit!
Thanks for your comment on 'I will come again'. But I couldn't understand the meaning of '...in the DARK'.
Regards.

Thanks for sharing this powerful image. Are you sure it's the sunset and not the "shock and awe" thing bluntly dumped at those poor souls? The halo may also makes it looks like a picture taken right at the detonation of Nuke. Good photo/image makes people think...

Was the flag intentionally inverted vertically?

Bombing little defensless counteries with NO weapons of mass destruction will not help the rising much either. I admire you for gentle artistic/political view.

very strong message..and for the courage of speaking what you believe..that is what matters and is the responsibility of the artist..to express a mindset in such a way that it makes an impact.

this is my view..and i'm stickin to it!

I have to mention, that there are few countries on this globe of ours, that show it's flag with such frequency, that to many around the world... it actually becomes an irritant.

I for one hestitated to create and post this... but history will tell... who will rise above the Sun.
