On the Canadian Prairies, there are fewer and fewer old houses/buildings left standing as they give way to additional cultivated land. This house was the home of a once prominent pioneer, that still remains standing.
Hi Sue! Not sure where you live or if you are familiar with the "prairie". The house and shed were built back in the late 19th century. Over time, buildings settle and in some cases barns and other structures start leaning, then fall down. This is the case with these buildings. Not exactly sure what youmean about the bushes. The lawn slopes downward from the house. I took out the original photo and applied my magical ruler ( a giveaway by the local septic tank extractor) and I think the horizon is straight. I may be a smidge out tho! I do have a bubble on my tripod but it could also be off. There was a bit of a breeze that afternoon so perhaps this was playing with the bushes. I really appreciate your views. Thanks les
Les, what lens are you using? The bushes on the left seem distorted to the right, and the house appears to be leaning to the left and backwards. Of course, it could be wind blowing very hard and bending the bushes, which would mean the near vertical line of the house is not straight which would mean the horizon is off.
Or not. I still have problems with architectural perspective "rules" in photography. And rambling - I have problems with rambling... :-)
