Wonderful photo! Very emotional boy. I understood you. I have the same problem, when my sons was small it was easy to do their picture, but now...I did great shoot!

probably the best of your shots simply because the angle works so well, your son is photogenic and in this shot, the subtle inquisivness gets your attention. There really is no indication he does not want his photo taken at least in this moment in time. Good shot.

Pat this a wonderful image. My only suggestion is to avoid the extreme highlight on the face. This may be have been caused by the capture method or later.
Great question in your forum post, re: pro photographers.
In my arrogance I did not consider such a point of view. Thank you for the slap in the ego. What I want from from this site is to be (in my view of things) inspired by images that need no help and helpful to images that obviously need work. No one reading my critiques should feel insulted as Iam my own harshest critic. I have learnt that others are not willing to be harsh to be helpful, so I must do the hard bit myself.

In a year he won't recognize himself anyway. ;-). Lovely shot, I sometimes wonder if only parents can get away with photographing their children this close and open. Nice control of depth of field.
