It's a hit. What strikes me most is that the flash has worked so well without washing out the closest parts, probably because there are not to many white areas. Anyway, this technical aspect aside, you have a wonderful composition. Some reflections on the petals make them appear as mineral concretions. Really beautiful.

You're right Diana-- this worked out very well for you. This is an excellent composition-- and part of that is because it's a bit unusual. But you've got excellent detail, color, and background as well. I've found "serendipity" to sometimes play a significant part in some good photos too. Cheers. Craig
