Shot with no filtration, handheld. I lied when I said the third stairs was the last in the series. I found one more that I almost forgot about. Location: Somewhere in Europe.
Kenneth, I admire your photos, and I must say, with all sincerity, they inspire me to be a better, more creative photographer.
The lines and colours in this photograph are beautiful (I would protest strongly about converting it to b&w). It's a wonderful abstract, however I find the human-like shadow on the left distracting, as it interrupts the pattern.
I think my favourite part is the contrast of the warm wood with the cool metal stairs. It seems to me the sun was just high enough so as not to spill on the stairs and ruin the effect.
But! Could this be the staircase inside the St Peter (San Pietro) in Rome? I've been there 3 times now and I have the feeling I know these stairs......
Hi Kenneth-- Though I do like the concept of the image and the strangeness of lines, I think that BW would have even been slightly more dramatic with this subject. Nice angle, it makes people think. Paul
Great lines in this one... I really had to look into the image to find which way was up and how everything was laid out. Like Vince said, the borwns and silver work very nicely together, and the stairs are very original looking!
I have never been a big fan of this type of image. Have always liked the classic landscapes which you also do very well. However, I find that these abstract type of metaphysics or whatever you call them, do grow on me. In this image, the browns and silver go very well together. But also in this case the extra highlights by the sun add an extra dimension that helps this even more in my opinion....gives it the pop! Sharpness is critical in these types of images, and once again it is top notch. Good job.
