About I wanted to try to create a antique, very dreamy feel to this image. I used several techniques in ps and was happy with the results.

Sweet, artistic and wonderful! The mother looks so happy and proud, while the baby looks surprised!

Karen; you've succeeded brilliantly. You really have created a dreamy atmosphere-- the soft, warm, muted colors are beautiful, and I love the expression on the mother's face. Nice work.

Very nice with the warm tones that you have created. Lovely lighting and a great presentation. Don.

This is so cute ... I see you finaly found a use for that vignette:) I feel it works well making the image seam closer and warmer .I do agree about the clothing . I find that when I shoot families it helps if the have a similar look to them . You were taking a picture of three beautiful women/children . you want them to seam like they belong to each other . Think of the old photos you use to see where the women were all in white long dresses . no I am not saying you need to put them in all white dresses but you get my point ... they belonged to eachother .The beach pictures with everyone in blue jean and white ...they belonged . I feel this is a darling picture ... loving a sweet . I feel your lighting it dead on and your content is perfect . I think you may not be happy with them for the reason above ... I feel you might have wanted a more antique ...we are girls kind of image . and you don't real have that .
That being said I can't wait to see the reshoot because the girls are all very beautiful ...
I think you could do some WONDERFUL things with them .
Keep up the good work ...your lighting has come so so far . I am jealous .

By the way I like the desaturation... works well for me ...

Louise, I am going to try to reshoot this as well. This was a situation where I did not go into it with this antique dreamy idea; but was trying to spice up some of the images. Any suggestions on some clothing choices or lighting effects for my reshoot would be great.

Thanks for any help and also for the positive feedback. I had to post something. I was going through withdrawals.

David, I really like the torn edge look, but I think the overall effect makes it too muddy or filmy looking, but appreciate your time and efforts. Would love to know how you did the border though.

Karen:

All sevens from me------again! Hope you don't mind
but I couln't resist taking your pic, and seeing what it
looked like using the GIMP program I've used before. This is
not a suggestion, but more a curiosity on my part.

Best to you
David

Love the pose and expressions! I like all your PS effects too. I guess the only thing that doesn't work is the Mom's top. I find it looks a little too 'modern' for these effects. But besides that it is still great stuff!! I just added a comment to your "Here's Lookin at You".
