Dear friend of Thomas. I'm glad that the boy had a person to capture such a simple but sweet moment. The bare feet are a nice touch. I would have wished for a greater range of contrast - but better the foto than my critique. Good for you - and Thomas.

I like the boy's expression and the way you've caught him with his feet moving (little boys are never still!) but I think this photo could use a bit of touching up (imho). If you could bump up the contrast some so there was more black and white and less gray, that would help a lot. Also, I think if the boy weren't centered so exactly it would be more appealing. Lastly, the scan seems to have some artifact that shows on my screen and does detract from the picture. (I'm sure the original doesn't have this.) All that being said, I still find this an appealing shot-a great looking kid with an engaging smile and a simple background...nice.
