This is a great portrait of your cat, as you can see I like closely cropped and this one is beautiful, such detail and amazing lighting. You have a great portfolio, very diverse and interesting. Alison

Of course I picked this image to comment on - being a cat person myself :-)

Hi Ryan - As you say, I did use USM, had to, course it was a very close crop, but I liked the outcome though!!!. Regards Ivan

I like your crop, its original, It looks like you have used your USM a bit to much, USM can be your freind, but it can hurt the image also. a good rule of thumb is to have the amount (at first) at 100%, and match the radius at 1 pixel, you can up and down from there, but if you go to 2 pixels, make sure to have the threshold up to compensate for sharpening of pixels.. This keeps the image from looking "to" digital. unless your going for that. if you find your image looking to digital, use a gaussian blur, at 0.1 - 0.4 to make the image look more real. we usally use this for most images being printed from a digital scan. in large format like 20x30 and up. Great colors by the way! Regards Ryan Winton

Tnx for all the nice comments. When I made it, I enjoyed the look in his eyes....yes it's a male, and he behaves like one. But nice cat all over. Regards Ivan

Perfect focus, beautiful colours, and a great sense of the cat as not just a pet but also a beast of prey! Welcome to Usefilm (I'm new myself and glad to welcome someone else to this friendly and supportive atmosphere.) I don't understand why this is entered into the "Creative Flower" project, though, but that's my problem.
