very good DOF with the whole subject in focus. Surprising with an aperture of only 4.6. The dark contrasting BG adds nice dimension to the mainly white subject.

Thanks very much Dawna, John and Yvon. Hope to get back to Usefilm soon but work and other commitments have me very distracted at the moment. Seems like there are many exciting changes here at usefilm.

Thanks Sue, and Jeff.
Actually I took a bunch of these shots trying for the best depth of field I could manage. This was the first one, hand held F:4.6 at 1/180 second.
Hoping to improve on that, I got out my tripod and repeated the shot with shutter speeds of 1/35 to 1/60 and an F Stop of 10.4 - Trouble with the tripod is that it is so much harder to manouver the camera that none of these latter pictures turned out any better than the first.
I was surprised myself when I looked at the results on screen and found everything in the first shot to be in focus. The tripod shots actually have too much DOF. In addition to being less well composed, the background has become quite distracting. I've included one here for comparison.

You really nailed this one John! f4.6? How did you pull that off and still get that DOF? Nice colors and comp here. This one turned out very nice.
