I've looked at this image several times before and have had to return again. The shadow cast by the glass fascinates me. The effect of the light passing through is magical, the way it lets the strong texture of the wall stand out. The lamp itself seems almost redundant in the photo. Almost, not quite. Some of the older photographs you've posted recently are very interesting - what else do your archives hold?

oh dear, Kostas, after i had a good laugh at your comment about my photo, Swoon, i had to come and look you up. i took a quick stroll through your portfolio and you certainly are no stranger to color and drama (hence your attraction to my Swoon image i think). However, you have more than a passing respect for subtlety as well and so you and i have a lot in common. This image is gorgeous. The shadow and the texture of the wall are stunning. The image is so fine i can even see the dust on the lamp. Your composition is very nice, subject is interesting and mysterious..it might have done with even a little less dodging (if that's what you did), the bright area is just a little bit hot. But very minor distraction in a wonderful image! Best regards: kat~
