About This was shot just after sunset from a cruise ship on my way to Alaska. This would be the only time I saw the sun set for this trip as it rained every single one of the seven days I was in Alaska. Location: Coast of British Columbia, Canada.

Beautiful scene and nice composition... great colors... how did you manage to capture this scene? ...and what kind of film is Kodak EBX 100?

Steve: Thanks, I agree with your careful analysis. Of course, that wasn't what I was thinking as I shot this. The boat was moving pretty fast so I just composed intuitively and fired. Arreymbuo: I don't know exactly what you mean by "getting the colours correct". Since film doesn't give you a choice of white balance as in digital, I do use colour balance to get rid of any colour cast.

Hello Kenny K!

After a close observation of your Pictures, I have decided to finally ask you a question. How do you manage to get you colours so correct? I woud really be very grateful you you could tell me that.

the colours are really amazing

I think* I follow what steve is getting at, and agree, the way the "layers" play out really does make this work, serene image~

nice soft color...looks like you did as good as you could for right there and then.. This reminds me of your comment on my post from yesterday...you weren't in control of your environment but you made the best with what you were given.

Kind of an aside, but, a while back, I'd given a little thought to the composition of a layers shot like this, and decided that the foremost layers should to be the ones that reach the edges of the frame...that is, all other layers should preferably terminate behind the foremost layers a little before they hit the border (am I making sense??). Anyway, that's what you have here...if you had zoomed in a bit or had cropped 50-100 pixel columns off the left side, you wouldn't have that. And yes, maybe I'm weird...I do think of stuff like that sometimes!

Bummer about the rain...hope you still had an awesome trip, though!
