About Rear fender and barbed wire on a pickup truck. I spotted this abandoned truck in a small town in cattle country and went back to shoot the rust/patina. A post, ?Apache? and ?Way Out West #1 & #2" are of this same truck.

Hmmmm. Harlan, I know how amazing your eye for abstracts is, and it is only because of that I am judging this a bit more harshly than if it were taken by a less skilled photographer. Ultimately, I find this to be a minor work in your portfolio. Yes, the colors are muted and lovely, but you just didn't have much interesting to work with here. Of course, this is all my subjective opinion. Hope you know I only say this because of how much I love so many pieces of your work.

Great find, though I think it could benefit from a slight crop of the top to focus us more on the central subject. Great form study--good curves, color, textures, as always.

Harlan---The colors are lovely, but somehow the composition of this one lacks a clear central focus for me. The abstract pattern on the fender doesn't quite hold the eye with the competition from elements at the top and lower right corner; this is a mighty interesting truck but there isn't quite enough of it here to tell a story either... You have done wonders with another piece of "found art" but for me, the other three compositions are more successful. ---Patricia

Hi Harlan:
I just arrived from vacations.... and I saw this beautiful "paint", with a fantastic colours. A great idea, Harlan.
A smile.

Great eye, Harlan. Loved "Apache" too - maybe a pic of the whole truck, too?
Cheers!
