Hi Christian, very nice shot congrats, and i completely agree with Alice and Kristina especialy about the shadow on the left-bottom. As they said, very good lightning and shot.
Alice, thanks, I'm glad you like it, I have some mixed emotions about this as well. This is a rather tight crop of a previous photo I have. I don't agree about the shadow, that one I actually liked.
But I do agree with you Kristina, about being too high and narrow. :| I understood your comment, it was an example of clarity and thought. :) Though, it didn't work out for me... So I did something else - take a peek!
Nice one Christian! I'm playing in my mind with the composition... I have no idea if I will give you a good suggestion now or stupid, but this is what I think: What happens if you crop the bottom from last step and down, and then crop on top about 1/3 away from top part of window? So the photo top will be 2/3 from the top step. (Haha... is my comment messy?) Anyway it's just a thought. I feel the composition feels a little bit long or high, but I might be wrong. Anyway, it's great architecture, very beautiful and old. Lightning is really great too!
The first thing I noticed from the thumbnail, was the flow of the steps on the left, this made the picture interesting for me. However, the shadow on the left seems out of place! I would also have liked to see more of the yellow above the door. It is a beautiful colour, the stains and metal lacework also add interest! Cheers, Alice.
