Wicked pic. I love the impact of this shot and the ability to look closely and get real detail of the sand etc. The ladders (assuming that's what they are)are a bit distracting but not overly. Exposure on this type of shot is very difficult due to it's extremes but you managed to capture suffecient detail in most areas.
I've recently taken some shots in an open woodland area which offers so similar qualities to this and gave me the difficulty in exposing that you've been faced with.
Anyhow, good stuff.
