Dave has hit the nail on the head, as you have with this terrific self portrait. Enigmatic and open to interpretation, with your trademark beautiful BW tones. I love the way the top of the vest melts into the background. And it's leather to boot. What could be better? ;-)

Your self-portraits continue to be self explorations, as well as examinations in the power of art. I have noticed that with your portraiture (well, with your self portraits primarily), it is often what is NOT seen that is at the heart of the photo, and I find this to be the case here too. I could say that this leads me to think dirty thoughts, and it does -- I can only imagine what could be going on outside the frame -- but the truly astounding thing is that this is left up to the viewer to interpret and examine for him or herself. Outstanding.

The direction of the model's gaze is clear. The only enigma remaining is, is that beautiful romantic facial reaction of his at himself or a partner? Magnificent, strong composition based on the full-frontal chest and the tilted head.

i'd burn in the highlights on the left side some to take away the more obvious effects of having a light on that side, otherwise melikey
