Subha, I can't figure out how to contact you here, so I'll hope you see this. If you want to get the best results from th 4500, DO NOT use high mode, use FINE. High mode saves images in the TIFF format and is very memory wasteful. Nikon included it just to keep people happy who expect to find it on high-end cameras. Fine mode produces pictures that are actually better quality and use only 1/4 of the memory. To get the highest magnification, go to Macro mode (yellow flower) and set the zoom to the highest zoom that still keeps the flower yellow. If you have the aperature to max, it should read 10.4. I always use Aperature priority, which gives me the greatest depth of field, but also a very slow shutter speed. The best advice I can give you as to getting sharp pictures is always find some way to brace the camera to eliminate vibrations. Good luck and hope to see some great bug shots soon. The yellow, blue and green colors are so beautiful Subha! I have never seen such a beautiful photo of tulips. The lightning is great and so is the composition. Yellow tulips are one of my favorite flowers, I have painted them a lot of times. I show you one of them here in watercolors.
Thank you for your nice comments, yes I like to photograph different subjects. But making a selfportrait...... pfffff....I am much too shy I think, never done that before. I will try one of these days, I promise.

So lovely this is! Wonderful colours and soft (but not unsharp) feeling! I don't really see any difference between the photos, I don't find your second added photo grainy. Did you upload the wrong one? Or should I put my contact lenses in? ;-) Oh yes, by the way... you asked for self portrait. I have one in my portfolio somewhere that I named "Crazy".
