Hey Kim, I think you had potential for a great photograph here, as both of them have very pleasant expressions, and the man is certainly an interesting character. Also the bikes provide a nice context, the viewer can get a better idea of their lives, hobbies, etc.
Unfortunately, as you're probably aware, the shot was hurt by having the focus on the building in the background rather than on the couple.
For the next time I'd also suggest to pay attention to the edges of the photograph you are taking, so that you don't crop off tiny bits of people's shoes for example :-)
