Indeed, if they adopted a square shape of the plate. Will Lose details on the left side.
And I see if I have the rose and the other nearby in the background. This kind of break the visual monotony. Or the traditional form. By nature and I do not like things symmetrical.
With this configuration I might break the monotony.
