the yellow really shows with that dark background, the green also a nice contrast. Looks like you waited for perfect light. well done.

This is a keeper, John. I like florals that are taken from unusual angles and this one looks like it is trying to get out of the harsh sun. I especially like the center and the detail you were able to capture there. I like the cropping, too, and the light on the hairs of the green stem in the upper right. Oh, I just thought of something else, I like the bug holes -- makes it look like a real flower, not one from a florist's shop.

Nice sunflower, John. Most sunflower photos take have an almost perfect flower...I like the idea you had and the execution is great!
