About Huge Canetoad. About 15cm across the shoulders. Imported into Queensland to get rid of something else but has spread all over the state and is on the must get rid of list. Distroys crops and is a killer to dogs, cats, snakes and even crocodiles. Has poisones glands behind its head and when eaten. Well, either very sick or dead. Crows have them figured out though. They tip them over and attack from underneath. They used to have a toad killing day as they are so bad but dont know if they still have it or not. Everyone used to go out with golf clubs and cricket bats. Some would spray them with WD40 or petrol while the way they tell you to do now is put them in your freezer. No i didnt kill it. I left it alone. Neigbour probably did lol.

Good grief! What a life these toads have! It's hard to say what is the right thing to do considering what they to other animals themselves. I still feel sorry for mr toad though. He can't help it he's unattractive & mean. I like your picture.

Yuk, ugly thing. Not you, Keith, the toad.(haha) My kids used to poor salt on them until they burst. I know, so cruel, but these things are horrible and have killed so much of our native wildlife. :(

Morning from Big Sky Keith, only thing missing is the black hat of a villain on this fat toad. Nice close up and about.
Be well, Stan

What an evil looking toad Keith. Great details and catch light in the eye. An excellent informative about my friend and isn't it always the way that when man interferes with nature things go wrong. The experts say 'let's do this or that' and it's time for the rest of the World to groan. Well done, great photography and I don't think I could bring myself to kill one either. My very best wishes to you as always.....Ray
