you made a almost apocalyptic picture..... No border, distressing aridity and the glance of the horse ...... extraordinary!
regards,Gabriella.

Really cool infrared technique! Maybe there is some subliminal dynamic tension added, since one would expect the horse to fall over! Well done and provocative image, Kes! Eb

It is amazing how variations to tones can change aspects of a composition. I liked what you posted and the optical illusion that came with it. Cheers to you Kes and yes what you have said does make sense. Best wishes to you......Ray

Hi Riny!
Thanks for your intuitive comment!
However, it appears tonal merger problems with the critter's front legs are weighing in heavily against the post processing treatment that you refer to as exposure. In that, technically speaking, I believe you are incorrect, although I can sympathize with your individuality.
Have a great day! kes

Hi Ray!
To tell the truth I did not notice the legs until it was mentioned here. The plan was to post the sepia version, which gives a little better definition to things (such as legs.)
However, I went with the more contrasty b&w conversion/treatment to hopefully yield a bit more of a stark contrast in an attempt to set off the horse from the rest of the shot. This effect seemed (to me) to pull the eye and emotions closer to the horse.
Does that (the abstract view) ever make any sense? ;)
Be well my friend, kes

Thanks Mark! They are good subjects! Yes, I thought a little "treatment" enhanced this image. :) However, after looking at your similar image, I'm wishing for not so tight a crop here. They were moveing up to me quickly so not many framing choices were available.

An original perspective my dear Kes providing us with an optical illusion regarding the horse's legs. I like the balance of the shot and the almost high key effects achieved in exposure. I love those excellent mono tones, very effective, well done to you my dear friend. It is good to see you posting again. My very best wishes to you as always.....Ray
