I tested some digital cameras of friends around here, Saad. It was a Canon EOS 5D (I think Mark II), one Nikon D300S, and some Sony models. I took some shots here and some there, and the whole kind of activity and how the sbject is approached only made me forget about them. It was more like having calculators in my hand than instruments that work with light. Exactly the opposite of looking into the hood of the Hassie, where the world vibrates and swings and reveals its pure essence.

Cheers!

Nick

The congrats can only go to Victor Hasselblad, Saad. I can only hope that I will be able to transform its capabilities to good images. Some of them will be coming up in a week or two.

Cheers!

Now I had to smile, Saad, for digital is indeed *cheap* in all possible ways to understand the word. ;-) Some few images of my newly bought second hand Hasselblad set really really made me see how *cheap* digital is.

Anyway, I'll be pleased to see more of images of that and surely taking several shots of some given subject is exactly what the photographical work should always be.

Cheers!

thanks Nick,my habit is to take two or more shots of every thing I capture( DIGITAL IS CHEAP YOU KNOW),so I will post the other little bit different one,
be well,
Saad.

The front lines are rather a nuisance in this case if they are not as sharp, Saad. There are enough of them on the rest of the image, so I don't miss the front ones if they are cropped off. I don't know, however, what their effect would be if they were well in focus.

Cheers!

thank you Nick,
it is about lines, and as I think cropping the lower part would remove the widest line in here,as you can see each white line is a wooden chair, and I kept the nearest cause it contains a lot of lines though they are blurred, any way it could be totally cropped to form a square format and that is good too,
my best,
Saad.

A fantastic sense for the translucent material of glass, Saad! Well visible pixelation on the contours of the bottle but the material's optical properties prevail very strongly. The composition's concept is very well fitting too. I only don't know if the bottom (foreground) is good this way, or if less would be better, since all interesting things seem to happen on the top 2/3s of the image. (Attachment.) The strong contrasts are another plus here. They seem to enhance the brilliance of the glass very well.

A good one.

For me ,that movie was a very fine peace of art, philosophy ,and realization of a mind state, and it give so much ideas to deal with people and God in the same instances,
it simply tell us in an excellent form what will happens if an other Christ would come to our earth, and how the peoples will react towards him, this in a small scale perspective ,but the ideas behinds is far greater than that,
about the Satanic Verses ,it is so pity that I haven't have the opportunity to get one for reading,
BTW,some other fine movie related to this subject, that have great ideas behind is titled Two of a Kind.
my best wishes.
Saad.

I have seen that movie. George Burns played God and John Denver was the fellow who did not believe. This makes me ask a very personal question. Since you are Muslim... does the American representation of God in movies give you an uncomfortable feeling? You may answer at my personal email. How do you feel about the representation of God in movies? What is your opinion of the "Satanic Verses" controversy? with Salmon Rushdie? An honest and interested person who asks a very serious question. Jimmie

Hi there Saad, welcome back my dear friend. I hope you had a great holiday and brought back lots of shots to show us.

I love the selective focus in this wonderful simplistic still life study Saad. The straight lines combined to the curvaceous coke bottle. Great mono tones too. My very best wishes to you as always.........Ray

Welcome back Saad. I like the simplicity of the lines in this shot, broken by the curves of the bottle and the contrasting tones. I'm not sure I like the defocused foreground though. perhaps a square format might work better?
Best wishes, Gary
