Well, Bubai, perception lies in the brain of the beholder and the sensory organs provide only data, but that's anotehr story. Let's say perception lies on the eyes of the beholder since it suffices in this case.
The question is, do you want your own feeling and attitude be recognized by other perceptions or is it not necessary for you. If the latter is true then there is no need for any speficic statement of the image and we have an abstract about which any spectator will have his/her own perception. This is the very essence of an abstract.
But if you do want to say something specific, like for example what goes on while waiting for the rain and about global warming, then you *must* make it clear! You can't expect the spectator to guess your intention just because you had some certain feelings, since the spectator was not there and can have no other entrance to understanding your intention than the door which is named "an image". It is much like good old Alfred Hitchcock said: "You want to raise suspence? Show them the ticking bomb under the table!"
So, it boils down to your own intentions. Should it be an abstract or a statement? As a statement about heat and global warming and all the associated facts, it simply doesn't work here. Show the image without title to as many strangers as possible and ask them about it. Almost nobody woll think about global warming.
But all this shouldn't mean that the image is not good. It is! It is only the question about tranferring a message that I am thinking about.
Cheers!
Nick

How beautiful you are my sweet Bubai and what a stunning self portrait you have taken for us to see. I love the tones and I love too the gentle expression upon your pretty face. Another very big HUUUUUUG and a little kiss on the cheek (don't tell Harry) and even more best wishes......Ray

Thanks Nick, as beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder so do the perception. Your perspective of vision is also true on your part. I had just jotted down my emotion about the snap. This is a self portrait. It really hot and dry in Kolkata, the city of joy. Not only me but all of us (Kolkatans) are waiting for rain. Let the rain sweep away all the heat. The left glare in the snap symbolizes heat. lol... Thanks again for your comment.

I don't know if this manages to so speak for itself about global warming, Bubai. It does speak to me but about anything else than that. Actually it speaks in a diffuse, undefinite way, which also enhances its strength as an abstract kind of emotion. The very tight color palette has something very modern in it and the low sharpness seems to be ideally fitted for that too. The exposire balance kept a good plasticity of the face and the composition is tight and simple as it should be. Only small problem is that glare at the left of the face, which is nonetheless easily correctable.
Very interestoing work!
Nick
P.S.: BTW, did you directed her to stand this way or was it a snap?
