The toning is great here, Bubai! The whole spectrum of nice tones from deep to light greys is available. And it is also available in nice transitions that preserved the plasticity of your subject very nicely. The separation of the man from his background by restriction of the DoF worked also very well. It allows to concentrate on the protagonist but it also provides the scene in which he looks most authentic.
The focus on the man himself didn't work as well, unfortunately. The DoF was either not centered on his face but rather on his body, or there has been a bit of motion blurring. The "fuzyness" of the contours of his face characteristics is a bit disturbing. The typical stair-stepping zig-zags which are visible primary on his beard makes me think that the echoed contour lines of his face were the result of ineffective sharpening here.
The timing was good too, for an interesting portrait with a natural expression and a captivating atmosphere. I guess that a faster shutter with a wider aperture would be ideal for the image.
Cheers!
Nick
