Referring to an old song. Notoriously bad, the chart topping song 'Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka-Dot Bikini' tells the story of a nervous young lady, rather afraid to emerge from the locker room after becoming a little too adventurous in her choice of swimming garment. After eventually leaving the locker room in a blanket she remains bundled up on the shore for some time before advancing on the ocean and staying there, embarrassed beyond words, slowly turning blue. By this time in the song the listener will be excused for simply wishing she'd hurry up and drown, and may even have advanced to the stage of inserting a digit in each ear and intoning 'la la la can't hear you'.
Originally released on the 8th of August, 1960, by Brian Hyland, the song was written by Paul Vance and Lee Pockriss.
One of the first songs I leaned as a youth. Since then I have managed to listen to all the Beatles stuff I can get my hands on and The Dropkick Murphys, Everclear and Flogging Molly... along with tons of other bands. I love music and am listening to museic everytime I post or view on UF. An d right now, I have Franz Josef Haydn "Notturno No. 1 in C second movement" on... and if I hit a button I get: "Laura" by Flogging Molly. Next song? "Lukey's Boat" by Great Big Sea. Shall I do more? OK! Jimmy Dean "Big Bad John." "Well...All Right" Buddy Holly. Bob Seger, "Turn the Page." "For Your Violin" Carbon Leaf, The Clash, "London Calling." "Like a Rock" Bob Seger... this one is brilliant... ya gotta get a copy. Give me an email... I'll send it to ya.... So, anyway... ya brought back some grand music memories. 1958... you and me. By the way, my brother (B) looks at my photos on UF but does not comment. He told me last week that he thinks you are hilarious....
