There is definitely places of overexposure here but in this case they only enhance the presence of the strong sunlight, Jacques! It really looks like a hot summer day should look. The composition's balance is just about right to me and the timing was exactly as needed for a natural portrait in the sun. I consider the details/plasticity of the face a big plus on this one.
The addition of grain made it look rather like a magnification of a part of an old image in the style of imposing some special importance of the person - a bit of documentary and history here.

Nice pose, very nice placement into the frame Jacques... ok, perhaps I could ask for a bit more deepness on the image however with that way you already have, the image looks older (only the image...hehehe) hmmm... on that style sepia could also works...
