About A hawk I caught on a recent trip to Ottawa. I'm not sure of the exact type though.

Absolutely excellent image, perfect focus, clear shot and surely NOT the bird that we can ...see everyday... especially about my place! :-) Great shot my friend.
be well!

I'm not sure either but it sure looks nice. I haven't had any luck here with hawks. The sharpness and colours look great and it looks like you were fairly close too.

Nice capture Dave, perfect focus on its head/eye for a nice pose. My guess is an immature Sharp Shin. Well done.

An excellent capture my dear Dave and the hawk has definitely fixed it's sharp eyes upon something. I love the look of the ruffled feathers as I believe this could be the prelude to a sudden swoop after prey or just having been caught whilst preening. Cheers my friend, a great shot. My very best wishes to you as always......Ray

Hi Dave,
I just looked it up in a couple of our books. I agree with Bill. It seems to be either a Cooper's Hawk or a Sharp Shinned Hawk. About 6 different types look very close to this in the immature stage.
Nice the way you got him on the one leg like that.

Very impressive Dave, I think it's a Coopers or maybe a Sharp Shin???

Great capture of a magnificent bird. I like the puffed up breast feathers and the colors with the nice blur of the b/g. I think you like the Pentax from what I have seen. nice work Dave!!
Be well, Stan
