Thanks Gary, I have some good old rusty wire and some of the new as well. Let me know and I will help you out. Thanks for the comment on the image. I was just shooting for the break-in of a 40D Canon and trying some different things. This was a crop from a much larger image.

The image works very well to my eyes. I used to know a guy who collected 30cm lengths of barbed wire from around the world, if I remember his address I'll get you to send him some..

First class focus my friend, nothing wrong with your eyes at all. I love this as a still life abstract and the composition is very sharp in both senses of the word. Superb dof lifts the barbed wire clear of the background. Well done to you Stan. All the best......Ray

Thanks Shirley, I will have to try a 2.8 on my 28mm lens and 3.5 on the one I used for this shot. I was using manual focus to be sure I had the wire on the spot. Thanks for the suggestion and ideas. I respect your eye for these things.

Thanks pare, I enjoy looking at the beauty around me and as you, share the joy of the simple things. Life is good when viewed expecting the beauty. I quit watching the TV over a year ago and have not felt better. I was depressed at the constant negativity of the press and those in the news as well. I have found that photography has set me free of dwelling on the parts of life I have no control over. Now I look forward to time with my camera and my family.
