I think that I understand quite well the hard photographical situation, Dan. But even in this case you did already a very good job.

But what do you mean with "the sun was being filtered by a tree"? Do you mean that some lightrays made their way through the foliage onto the tiger's fur?

Cheers!

Nick

Hehe, maybe he was looking at me for his dinner. I loved the highly alert expression he was displaying, thanks dear Ania for your comments

Beautiful capture of this majestic "kitty" ;) I like the way he looks at something and this paw up. Perfect shot!

Best,

Beautiful wild life shot Dan,
I'm agree with Nick about the glare on its back,
anyway it's a great capture.

Tommaso

Thanks Keith, I could have got the focus a little better I think, was still getting the hang of the new camera and lense, and the micro adjustments for the autofocus.

Oh and he is the proud father of three new 8 month old cubs.

On 12 June three critically endangered Sumatran tiger cubs were born at Auckland Zoo. They made their public debut on Wednesday 17 September.

Which is strange becuase I took photo's of them on the 31st August.

Thanks Nick, a bit hard here as the sun was being filtered by a tree, so the bit of glare impossible to control here. He certainly was highly wired checking out everything and everyone

A lovely portrait. The setting looks quite natural for what I assume is a zoo. And whatever the thoughts on zoos, perhaps this is the only chance of survival for these wonderful animals.

Artistically this subject successfully is represented. I knew however not at all that zoo animals belong to the subject of Wildlife. Regards Gerhard

Oh well, and I got my eyes on great photography, even under that danger! ;-) BTW, the tiger looks really interested! ;-) Except perhaps for that small amount of "glare" on its back, it is perfect in all disciplines to me, Dan! Coloring, details, exposure balance, timining... just everything. A very nice portrait of the animal in its own character!

Cheers!
