I think they are so different in concept that one is not better then the other really. This one plays with the eyes going from flat to 3D depending on where you are looking. More contemporary.

The gentle tones really help bring out the beautiful, sensuous shapes of these dunes, Txules. Very nice!

There's something about the top right of the photo that reminds me of a very famous building in Bilbao - its shape and how that changes with the light I suppose! Un abrazo, Tony

Paul is a good friend of mine, Avi; In February he comes to Bilbao but incredibly that day I'll be in Madrid, what a bad luck :( Now you say, I see the nomination, many thanks Paul but editors are very silent these days so... a second look, not so bad :) jd

I agree with Harry. On second look, this looks better than what it looked initially. Maybe you too, could give it a second look :)
I saw Paul nominated this.. so let's see what happens :)

This is a different subject to me compared to the previous upload.
This to me is more about the texture of the dune and the way the light is falling on it, creating shadows that bring that texture out. By concentrating on the dune, and not including the sky (which would place it) I can enjoy the play of light more.
I think the previous upload is more about shape. The dune is placed as a landscape because of the inclusion of other dunes and a middle/far distance/horizon. The dunes in that photo have nice shapes and the image is great, but I prefer this one.

Previous photo I liked very much at first sight. This one is equally good, if not better, but the viewer needs a longer time to discover the melodies in here.
Like listmeing to nina simone and hearing different details each time you play it again. The pevious image was like a love at fist sight, this image will stay interesting for ever, like your girl. yours ...
