This is one great image and, as only a recent convert to digital, the quality and atmosphere of this could easily turn me back to using film. So no critique at all. But like Shirley I thought of the X-files when I first looked. Probably because they paid their actors so much they couldn't afford much in the way of lighting..
Regards, Gary

Well, I used to be kind of an X-Files addict...lol, and I still love sci-fi, but rarely get to watch it any more, since I'm now living with my Mom.

You're welcome, Paul, and Happy New Year to you and yours!

Actually i think the other way around, High end Canon is a bit better. That's why you see all them white lens by the pros at sporting events, etc. You're right however the low end canon lens were, well, "cheap". The high end lens are excellent. Regardless you can't go wrong with either !!

Have a great New Year and keep shooting !!

Im sure canon is just as good and Nikon mostly on the high end. Just something I really liked about this camera. I kinda did think that Canon lower end len's were a bit on the soft side. Anyways I will still shoot with both! lol Hey, I could even get me a sony! I know, I know.........Money!
:)

Be well Al!

Paul,
I've stayed with Canon and am quite happy, although Nikon has some great things about it. Several of my friends have Nikons, I shoot mainly with the Canon 1D MK III and a lot of my shooting is low light dance, performing arts so quite often I'm at ISO 3200 and the nose level is acceptable after a bit of clean-up in Light Room.

Have a great year !!

Al

after I post my input,I started to read the critiques, and this is my usual to be fair in critiques,
first,I would like to tell you that the D300 got a little noise,if any at up to ISO 1000,
second,I have noticed the info of the shot, that stated the camera is D300,the lens is canon, and at your about,it is an analogue canon AE1,how that could be ?
my regards, and excuse me for asking,
Saad.

Thanks Al.....And to be honest with you I really cant say. Many reason but I just liked what I saw with other peoples photos and the colors. But when this camera came out it just seemed right from me and my style.......Its a curve and half compared to what I was shooting with but Im learning much everyday! Im now glad I did switch
I just love this camera and it seems to fit perfectly with my creative style. The only thing to this point is that Im not really happy with the noise Im getting and Im not really shooting that high for this camera! 400 to 600 iso. I know im just not setting it up right cause this is supose to be one of the best models for reduced noise. Will just take time I guess!

Paul.....:)
