Nice haearing from you again Wolf. Actually its quite a process cutting alfalfa. They cut it when it starts to flower, then let it sit for a couple of days or more to dry. Then they turn it to dry more and bale it. They used to always make small bales so they could buck them (pick them up). Now its can still be done that way but many farmers make bigger square bales or even bigger round bales. The round bales are the more efficient. Then the farmer can use his tractor to unroll the bales for his critters.
