Much of a potential for strong one, Indranil! I suggest the attached crop. Watch how strong the (almost) implicit lines send you to the depth *and* enhance the presence of the boat on the way.
BTW the light of the original is also stronger. It supports the scene completely.
Cheers!

I think that the presence of the horizon wouldn't affect the eye in any way in resting on the boat, Gary. Quite the contrary I have in mind, namely that the presence of some more highlights would support the importance of the boat rather than diminish it. It doesn't have to be much of that, only some half inch of sky and the horizon line at the depth.
As about an image that is as many others, well, if we go for original compositions then they have to be really striking. Is this already one? To me it is not. Not yet.
Cheers!

So, let's see where it leads to, Indranil!
It will surely help telling what is a more viable way for such an image, and I'll be glad to know.
Cheers!

It's very well exposed. I disagree with Nick about the need for an horizon and setting sun. That would make the image so much like many others. The way you have framed it allows the eye to rest more easily on the boat and the lines in the water that lead to the boat. Regards, Gary

Very exact details of the water surface and a great lighting that allowed the boat and the guys to be nice black silhouettes but still preserved the texture of the water. In this sense your balance of exposure was right on the best possible point, Indranil.
Wonder now if a clear horizon line and a diving sun could add more to this nice B&W. I think it would.
Cheers!
