That would really be best way Arvin. Direct comparison is always better. I tried burning the midtones a bit and even slightlier the highlights of the background street and attached the image. Well, I don't see any difference. The main character stands out so strongly that it dooesn't matter the light of the street. That's how it seems to me.
Cheers!

Your whole portfolio is fill of such interesting thumbs, Arvin, that it made it impossible for me to decide which one to click! So at the end I just took this one. And it was even more than I expected from the thumb.
A great plasticity of the face though it is not as near to the camera, by a very good usage of lights and shadows on it. The good details and the vivid but not exaggerated coloring provide another eye magnet. Especially the skin hues, which are so hard to get right, seem to simply flow naturally on her face, neck and arms. Perhaps some small overexposure in small areas of the arms ot the right side of her chin, which nonetheless intergate well and enhance the plasticity I already mentioned.
I think that Paul Lara would have fun for some sessions in your company! ;-) And I think that this is a very very good example for good photography - a good lesson for studying for the many wannabes. BTW, contrary to Paul I don't think that the street behind would be better darkened. I also thought that doing that would allow her light to stand out even stronger, but there was no real chance.
Cheers!

There's a lot of tension in this shot, Arvin. I'd consider darkening the street behind her, but a very nice shot.

In my opinion, background is not really suitable for the foreground, but I like her expression and vibrant colors here.

Nice shot. The colours and composition are great. This would make a great album cover for the Smashing Pumpkins.
