About	I thought here that a very limited color palette and a very soft focus could be nice for such an image. I don't know if the result justifies that and so I would be very glad to read any comments/hints/critiques about it.

I like such "rusty", "washed out" colors but indeed the B&W has its own way to enhance the look here.

BW version seems much better.
Mainly the colors of the background were disturbing !

I did some work on it in PS and found no better conditions.
So my conclusion is this photo as it is and BW both are very good.
I personally prefer BW mode when colors do not help !
