About One of the volunteer engineers, mostly retired Canadian National or Canadian Pacific railway men, on the Prairie Dog Central. This is a small railway run out of Winnipeg on weekends with 100 year old passenger cars and at present a relatively old diesel locomotive. They have an older steam engine undergoing restoration to start next year.

An excellent relaxed informal portrait of this old timer and so right in presenting him in superb sepia tones. Sharp as a pin and many interesting details on show. Well done to you my friend. All the very best as always Dave......Ray

A timeless one, Dave! For me it is photography at its best! It depicts real world, it doesn't change reality, but it still shows it from its best possible side.

The lighting is excellently balanced here. I find it so great that his eyes are still perfectly visible and help generate that clear face expression on the image. Even the many wrinkles kept their plasticity, and that under a strong light just right behind him.

I would think of getting his hands completely in the image, as they help conveying that quietness. This is the only small thing about this otherwise perfect image!

Super shot Dave, and nice effect too. The look of the engineer is nice and the details in the cab very interesting. Looks like something right out of the past. Great work.

Hi Dave,
A really nice image of this proud railroad worker. I wonder if he was working that line 50 years ago?
