I was just trying the get the lines of branches and the snow on them that looked like a kind of "copy" of the brances, and all that against the "void" because of the typical heavy snow clouds. The result surprised me since... if you manage to think that you stand above it you might also see crackles on some ice surface and dark water beneath.
What about composition? A bit raw, isn't it? Any ideas for a better one?
Photographing nature is much more than shooting quickly and expecting that the spectators will see the same grandiosity and elegance that the photographer saw. But unfortunately the vast majority thinks that the spectator has to guess their "feelings" when they shot, no matter if the image is good or bad.
Despite your judgement about your images, you are lightyears ahead of me. The photo of the flower was simply perfect. I think exactly *because* you are not easily satisfied with some cheap reproduction of something natural. I wish such a spirit to most photographers here.
That's the time of winter and unique weather conditions that make snow lie so beautifully on tree branches. Me too, I grab my camera and try to do my best to capture the beauty of it. That time do not last long unfortunatly. As for composition... I usually go to the nearby park (when I have some free time from work) and try to get some whole trees. In city it's branches and fragments of them. I try but it turns out the nature is much more beautiful than my photos of it.
