And another part of that might also be that his shoulder looks as if the arm was directed to the ground, more or less vertically, which ignites almost instinctively the idea of such a long arm. We can't really see where his arm is. Add that to the distortion that you, clever guy, introduced in such a subtle way.. and here we go!
Great for yet another glass raising!!

Part of the fact that it LOOKS enormous as compared to how it actually IS, is also due to the fact that I was using my 18-55 lens, at the full wide focal of 18mm. So it created this distortion, which, as I said, I liked :):)
But then, as we agree, WHO CARES as long as... :):)

Gasp!!! That guy had enormous arms, or so it seems! Hmm, some relative of Jean Marrie Pfaff?? ;-)
But, who cares about the length of the arms if the hands on their ends carry the bottles that do land accurately on the proper places for a big fat...
Cheeeeeeeeeerrrrss!

My point with the hand was this: after I saw how the photo turned out, it gave me the kind of uneasiness that as a viewer, it is not telling me precisely whether the hand was his or not. I wanted to see if anyone else had the same feeling.. as it happened, first Ian did, and now you !.. so, I feel completely satisfied that at least I have achieved what I set out to !
Ok, straight answer: yes, the hand WAS his. :):)
Now can we raise our bottles ????? :):)

Avi you gotme once again for this kind of... reversing the importances! I let aside the fact that it could go for a commercial (cheers!!! ;-)). It has enough unorthodox things that I find refreshing! Of course the highlight on the bottle, then the strange kind of almost-visibility of the head of the guy, and the combination of underexposure and overexposure on the different areas of the image. The dynamics range is just strong here! It didn't destroy all details but it also didn't allow all details to burn perfectly, and so I am walking between many different versions with different "possibly existing" details in my mind.
Another thing... that hand. Was it his own? Something tells me that it wasn't.
Cheers!
Nick

Wonderful idea... Reading your comments here... my thought: The hand is too close to the camera. It forces the eyes to the front right spot when we should be looking att he beer (Corona) The hand needs to be farther away than the head... and the head is fine... I think it is the hand that gives this away. Just my humble opinion....

I wouldn't worry too much about out of focus parts of the image Avi, the concept is real good. It has the look of a real-life (or real-bar) grab shot, rather than a sterile studio shot which gives it an authentic atmosphere. I mean, whose eyes are totally in focus after a while in a bar? Regards, Gary

yes, light was what made this shot. but I thought that the focus was not correct here. Don't you think that the outline of the silhouette should have been sharp ? here, the focus went to the front parts of the T-shirt and the bottle.. but look at the outline of the head.. I am not happy.. what do you think ?
