----------------------- Uxmal (Yucatec Maya: Óoxmáal) is a large pre-Columbian ruined city of the Maya civilization in the state of Yucatán, Mexico. It is 78 km south of Mérida, Yucatán, or 110 km from that city on Highway 261 towards Campeche, Campeche), 15 km south-southeast of the town of Muna.
Well, considering that travelling gets easier and easier with time, why not? It is always a good thing to visit some already visited place again. One can the notice how the own perception of things has changed in the time that has passed by.
It really has something very... "monumental", powerful, dramatic, and this of course matches also the historical background of the place evry well. The striking contrast of the wall against the sky makes the light very adequate for such a image. Really dramatic in the typical low-key way. The good details have also some very monumental touch then, which I think gioes back to the strong shadows, the latter also enhancing plasticity.
I don't know about the composition of this one, though. It looks quite weak to me. I tried some other crops but they didn't help - quite the contrary. So I guess some other angle/perspective could be more appropriate.
