The red toe was just to keep the flies away but it didnt work, they got attracted to it:))

Maybe I will let you stir....what about that;)) But we also need someone who will keep an eye on everything, isn't that a great job, tasting my soup and see if Keith is using the right tools;)))
Thank you so much for the recipe, I would have loved to try this out tomorrow, as I have a bif party at friends, but not enough time now, will make my asperges and fresh mushroom soup..mmmmm

Bamboo as from a plant or a real shell? These were shelss, do they have the smae ones over there? It would be nice if you would shoot a fish for me, if you can find an odd one, would that be possible? Looking forward to that!!!:))
My nail was indeed a ps one, as I didnt have time to do it at the beach..loll The flies likes it, did wash my feet though;)))

Prep Time: 15 Minutes
Cook Time: 30 Minutes Ready In: 45 Minutes
Yields: 6 servings
"This New England style clam chowder features potatoes, celery, onion and garlic and is thickened with flour, butter and half-and-half."
INGREDIENTS:
160 g chopped onion
3 cloves garlic
620 g peeled and diced
potatoes
120 g diced celery
6 g salt
1 g ground black pepper 2 (10 ounce) cans minced
clams, drained with juice
reserved
945 ml half-and-half cream
2 g white sugar
170 g butter, melted
95 g all-purpose flour
DIRECTIONS:
1. In a blender, combine onion, garlic and enough water to make a smooth paste. Set aside.
2. In a large pot, combine potatoes, celery, salt, pepper, onion mixture and juice from clams. Augment with enough water to cover. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until potatoes are soft, 20 minutes.
3. Stir in half-and-half and sugar. Combine melted butter and flour, then whisk into soup. Cook and stir until thickened. Stir in clams and adjust seasonings.

I think what you have there is similar to a bamboo clam that we have here too. remember my calm harvest picture, maybe I could supply the clam for the chowder. The bamboo shell that you have here can be grilled, no other ingredient, maybe a dip in vinegar. It goes well with beer...:)
