Never by sorry about abstracts! They are one of the best forms of photography IMO. From the small picture I thought this would be a macro photo, but it was even more. Beautiful light and lines.

marek, it's those small hairy strings forming the parachute of the seed, 80 times enlarged by a cheap microscope. the red background stems from the tiny bulb lightening it from above :)

Why apologise for putting up an abstract?! They might not have as many fans as purdy lansdcapes etc but a) if this is your style/interest then go for it b) there are heaps of ppl (myself included) who love them.
My first look at this (from the thumbnail) had me thinking you did something similar to my cosmic pic - backlit dandelion. Closer inspection shows it to be very different - but I want to know if it was just my imagination or mother nature playing fractals. It is a little soft and dirty, but ... I guess thats what it looks like deep down! Which part of the seed is this?

no, you did not!---------------------now, let me see, pardon my silliness and abysmal lack of fantasy, but...WHERE THE HELL IS the dandelion here? ah, unless you put a segment under a microscope maybe? should it not be yellow? should it not be fluffier? hey, Fabius, THIS IS NOT FLUFFY AT ALLLLLLL! you know what it reminds me of? a piece of an old indian (red indian, also called Native Americans-bless them) teepee, and the sunset is shining outside with it orange glow, and they are in there plaiting each other' hair, and etc etc u asleep yet?

Fabio, at first, I thought it was a tend lighted at night. Then I saw your explanation. Quite impressive. You see, abstracts are just like that. You can also create an image on other people's image. Marilia
